Hugh O’Conor
Hugh O’Conor is a creative engine.
Starting his career at nine years old opposite Liam Neeson in Lamb, Hugh won the Youth in Film Award for his role as young Christy Brown in the Oscar-winning My Left Foot, earning praise from Daniel Day-Lewis at the Academy Awards.
Since then, he has appeared in films including Chocolat, The Young Poisoner’s Handbook, and The Stag, and won the Irish Times Theatre Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance as the Fool in King Lear at the Abbey Theatre.
Hugh made his feature directorial debut with Metal Heart, earning the Jim Sheridan Award for Achievement in Irish Film, while his latest television project, Showkids, aired on RTÉ in 2025 as a six-part series.
His photography has been exhibited at the Royal Hibernian Academy and the National Gallery of Ireland.
